Pallavi Varma Patil

Biography

Trained in Public Policy and Management from the International Institute of Social studies (ISS) , The Netherlands; Pallavi has over fourteen years of work experience in the development sector. During this period she has been associated with child rights issues, alternatives in education, and sustainable, community led waste management practices through her work with CHILDLINE India Foundation (CIF), Mumbai, Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT), Mumbai and Waste Wise Trust (WWT), Bangalore. Her prior research and work has been in the domain of public - private partnerships and child welfare policies. Her current interests include environment education, activity based learning, and Gandhi’s Nai Talim- productive work as pedagogy. Academic Qualifications - MA Development Studies( Major: Public Policy and Management)MSW, BA Economics (Hons). Areas of Interest are Children's libraries, sustainable cities, children's literature Teaching areas include Work and Education, Vocational Education.

Research Interest

Gandhian Basic Education, theme based teaching, child rights and child protection, child migration, non-formal educational interventions.
