Biography
Dr. Nanhai Singh currently working as a Professor in the department of chemistry in Banaras Hindu University .He received his PhD degree from Awadh University, in 1980 and completed his MSc from Banaras Hindu University in 1974 and BSc in 1976 from Banaras Hindu University.
Research Interest
Design, synthesis, crystal structures and properties of dithio complexes of ligands such as functionalized dithiocarbamates, xanthates, dithiocarbimates, isomaleonitrile dithiolate and other related dithio ligands. The homo- and heteroleptic as well as the homo- and heterometallic complexes thus formed have shown exciting semiconducting and luminescent properties. Several pyridyl functionalized dithiocarbamate complexes have been used as sensitizers in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and have shown good conversion of light energy into electrical energy. Rare CHM anagostic interactions have been investigated and supported by theoretical calculations particularly in d8 and d9 metal complexes.
