Biography

Associate Professor Dr Sivaram V Gowda is the Senior Faculty in the Department of Botany, Bangalore University, Jnana bharathi, Bangalore University, Bangalore, India. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Botany, Zoology and Chemistry from Sri Sathya Sai College of Science, Whitefield, and Bangalore. After his post graduate degree in Botany, he obtained his Ph.D degree from Bangalore University, India. Dr. Sivaram was appointed as Team Leader consultant by the Food and Agricultural organization (FAO) of the United Nations to improve the apiculture activities in Iraq during 2002. Dr Sivaram was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Nehru Senior Research Fellowship to work at the Department of Biological Sciences, the University of Montana, and Missoula, USA during 2009-10. Dr Sivaram was awarded J B Free Gold Medal during 2008 the 2nd International Beekeeping Congress in Thimpu, Bhutan. He was also honoured with Anak Sarawak Award by the Government of Sarawak, Malaysia. From 2007- till date, he is working as Associate Professor of Botany at the Bangalore University. Dr Sivaram has travelled several countries on academic assignments and he has published over 35 original papers and presented many papers in both National and International Conferences. Dr Sivaram has organized more than a dozen International conferences in India, Mauritius, Thailand, Bhutan and Malaysia.
