Biography
Dr. Sarbojit Biswas is an Associate Professor at the Department of English, School of Literature, Language and Culture Studies, Bankura University, Bankura, West Bengal. His doctoral thesis was on the novels of Indigenous Australian writer Kim Scott. He was also a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales (School of History and Philosophy), Sydney, Australia (2010 – 2013). He was invited to attend the International Research Workshop (IRW) organized by UNSW, Sydney, Australia in 2010 and gave a joint presentation with his team of researchers. He has toured extensively field sites in Australia, Thailand and India for field study related his projects on Water Resources. He has also extensively visited parts of India and Bangladesh to study the impact of Arsenic and worked on Arsenic Mitigation. Over the past few years, his research has increasingly focussed on Gerontology and he has been working on a number of Gerontological issues including environments of ageing, socio-cultural aspects of ageing in Indian society and the role of older people’s support networks in health literacy and care.
