Dr. Saurabh Misra

Biography

Dr Saurabh Misra is a Laparoscopic and Bariatric surgeon , Practicing as a Senior Consultant at Apollo Hospital ,Bangalore since 2006. He has more than 7000 Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeries to his credit. He started his career as a Registrar in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi where he trained in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery techniques after complication of his MS surgery from Rajasthan in 1997.He was later accepted as a Fellow in Bariatric surgery at prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN ,USA,where he trained under Dr Geff Thompson and Dr Kendrik ( 2004-2005). He started independently performing Bariatric Surgery in 2005 and was the first surgeon to perform such surgeries in Apollo Hospital ,Goa.

Research Interest

In 2010, he was invited for "World leaders hernia round table conference" at Shanghai China (only 5 surgeons were invited for the same) In 2012 he invented and developed his own method of minimal access surgeries known as SMILS which was accepted for publication in Journal of Minimal access surgery . In 2014 , he was invited to deliver Guest lecture on Matabolic and Bariatric surgery at API conference at Hubali, Karanataka. Till date he has more than 25 clinical research papers to his credit.
