Biography
Ms. Anjali P. Bansal serves as Senior Advisor of TPG Capital, L.P.P. Ms. Bansal had been Partner of TPG Growth since July 2015 and also served as its Managing Director. She was also responsible for building the human capital-related needs of the portfolio firms in Asia and Africa at TPG. Ms. Bansal served as the Managing Director of Spencer Stuart India Private Limited, and co-led the firm's Asia Pacific Board and Chief Executive Officer practice and was a part of the Asia Pacific leadership team. She served as Managing Partner of Indian Business at Spencer Stuart, Inc. Ms. Bansal founded the Spencer Stuart's India practice and has grown it successfully across Mumbai, Gurgaon and Bangalore. Ms. Bansal served in various geographies across the United States Europe and Asia, advising Indian and multinational on Chief Executive Officer and senior executive search, board governance and succession. Ms. Bansal consulted with clients across sectors, including private equity, financial services companies , industrial, technology and consumer. She served as strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company. Ms. Bansal consulted on strategy and organizational issues with firms in financial services, private equity, industrial, technology and media. She served at Indian Space Research Organisation. She is also on the Advisory Board of the Columbia University Global Centers, South Asia. She has been a Non-Executive Independent Director at Voltas Ltd. since March 9, 2015; GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited since February 19, 2013; and The Tata Power Company Limited since October 14, 2016. She is a Trustee on the board of the United Way of Mumbai and Enactus. She has been an Independent Director of Bata India Ltd since May 21, 2014. She was the founding chair of FICCI's Women on Boards program. She chaired the board of FWWB (Friends of Women's World Banking). She has been named as one of the "most powerful women in business in India" by Fortune Magazine and by Business Today. She is a frequent commentator on board governance, Chief Executive Officer succession, entrepreneurship and other executive leadership issues. She is a regular columnist with Mint and other leading publications such as The Economic Times: Corporate Dossier. She received an MA in international affairs with distinction, from Columbia University, where Ms. Bansal majored in International Finance and Business. She also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Gujarat University.
