Biography
Dr. K G Misra is presently working as Scientist ‘C’ at Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences loacted at Lucknow, India. Dr. K G Misra pursued Ph.D. in Geology in 2010 from the Centre of Advance Study in Geology, Lucknow University, Lucknow. Thesis entitled “Tree-ring based climate reconstruction in western Himalaya: Implications for river-flow changes; M.Sc. in Geology from Lucknow University in 2004 with first division; B.Sc. in Geology, Botany and Zoology from Lucknow University in 2002 with first division.
Research Interest
Research interest mainly focused on palaeoclimatic reconstructions and ecology of high altitude trees of diversified geographical pars of western Himalayas based on tree-ring data as a proxy record. Trying to establish the impact of natural or anthropogenic pressures over climate variability and ecosystem. Long-term behavior of glaciers from western and northwestern Himalaya. Climate extreme events and their recurrence behavior over the last millennium
