Biography
Dr. Surojit Pande is Assistant Professor in Chemistry at the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani. Dr. Pande joined BITS on 1st March, 2012. Dr. Pande did his Ph. D. in Nanoscience and Nanotech from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. During Ph. D. he worked on metal and metal oxide nanoparticles and their application in catalysis and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy. Before joining BITS, Dr. Pande was a postdoctoral fellow in the Crooks research group at The University of Texas at Austin with research interests in homogeneous catalysis using dendrimer-encapsulated nanoparticles.

Nanomaterial synthesis and fabrication, Synthesis and characterization of well-defined mono- and bimetallic quantum dots, metal and metal oxide, Semiconductor metal oxide and metal sulfide nanoparticles, Applications in electrochemistry, catalysis, biological, and chemical sensors, Anisotropic effect of nanoparticles in surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy.
