Biography
Dr. Brijesh Kumar is currently a Senior Principal Scientist & In Charge in the department of Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, India. He mainly focused on Development and validation of a rapid and highly sensitive method for simultaneous determination of 23 bioactive constituents in the leaf extracts of six Ocimum species and marketed herbal formulations of O. sanctum using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-hybrid linear ion trap triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (UPLC-QqQLIT-MS/MS). Furthermore, 50 compounds were identified and characterized by high-performance liquid chromatography-hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (HPLC-QTOF-MS/MS) on the basis of accurate mass and MS/MS pattern.
Research Interest
Chemotaxonomy, Identification/Characterization of Chemical constituents from Indian Medicinal Plants/products using MS (High Resolution Mass Spectrometers),Marker identification for quality control/ Quality assurance of Herbals, Study of variation in chemical constituents of herbal plants from different locations, season, altitude and gender
