Biography
Dr. Atiar Rahaman Molla is currently a Senior Scientist in the department of Glass Division CSIR Central glass and ceramic research institute India. He completed B. Tech. (Ceramic Technology), CCT, University of Calcutta, M. Tech. (Materials and Metallurgical Engg.), IIT, Kanpur and Ph.D. (Engineering), Jadavpur University. He is Awarded 'Certificate of Merit' for excellent academic performance by IIT Kanpur in Nov'06, Best Poster award for the paper, "In-vitro dissolution studies of machinable glass ceramics for Dental implant in Artificial Saliva and Mouse fibroblast (L929)" by Atiar Rahaman Molla and Bikramjit Basu at National Symposium on Science and Technology of Glass and glass ceramics (NSGC-08), BARC, Mumbai, October'08, Best Poster paper award for the paper, "Processing and Properties of Bismuth Titanate (Bi4Ti3O12) glasses and Glass-Ceramic Nanocomposites" by Atiar Rahaman Molla, Anal Tarafder and Basudeb Karmakar presented in the "International Workshop and Symposium on the Synthesis and Characterization of Glass/Glass-Ceramics" (IWSSCGCG-2010) organised by C-MET, Pune and held at Pune, india during July 7-10, 2010 etc.
Research Interest
Materials Sciences with special references to the Glass Science and Technology, particularly in glass-ceramics for applications in armours, photonics and biomedical implants etc. Special interest on rare-earth doped luminescent, ferroelectric glass-ceramics for photonics, opto-electronics, memory and energy storage applications. Novel chalcohalide glasses of high refractive indices for processing of raw diamonds and rare earth doped chalcogenide glasses/glass-ceramics for various photonics and optoelectronic applications.
