Biography
Sujoy Das joined in Environmental Technology Division, Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai, India as a scientist on July, 2011. He received PhD in Life Science from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata, India. Before joining in CLRI he worked as a post doctoral research fellow in School of Biotechnology, Dublin City University, Ireland. Sujoy received both IRCEST-EMPWER, Govt. of Ireland and FCT, Govt. of Portugal Post Doctoral Fellowship. Sujoy obtained Master degree in Biochemistry from Calcutta University, India and has working experience in the field of Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology, Biomaterials, Nanoscience and Technology and Cell surface Interface. Dr. Das’s research focus is on the synthesise of novel hybrid nanomaterials using living microorganisms and other biomolecules as nano-factory and its’ application. The lab pursues a broad range of research that include biomimetics and bioinspired nanomaterial synthesis, understanding the fundamental mechanism of bioinspired nanomaterial synthesis, and applications of nano-biobybrid materials in pollution control management, catalysis, biosensing and biomedicine.
