Sambhunath Nandy

Biography

Dr. S. Nandy, born in 9th January 1972, is currently working in the field of Robotics at CSIR- Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur, India as a Principal Scientist. S. Nandy received B.E. and M.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering in the year 1994 and 1996 from Bengal Engineering College (University of Calcutta) & B. E. College (Deemed University) respectively. He received PhD degree Under Mechanical Engineering Dept of IIT, Kharagpur with specialization in Robot control using fused sensor data in the year 2014. He has around 20 yrs of experience in robotics and recently completed a couple of projects on underwater robotics on AUV and ROV. Currently he is handling a network program as Nodal Officer on Autonomous Underwater Robotics. He has around 30 publications in his credit. His research interests lie mainly in manipulator dynamics and control, underwater robotics, wheeled mobile robotics, sensor fusion and control of nonholonomic dynamic systems. He was a recipient of DAAD fellowship (Germany) 2002-2003. He is an Adjunct Professor of Mechatronics (M.Tech) program offered by IIEST, Shibpur, India and Associate Professor of AcSIR.
