Biography
Dr. Tapas Kuila was working as DST INSPIRE Faculty Fellow at CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute since November, 2012. Dr. Kuila has completed PhD in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India in July 2009. He worked as Postdoctoral Fellow and Assistant Research Professor in the Department of BIN Fusion Technology, Chonbuk National University, South Korea from September, 2009 to October, 2012. Dr. Kuila completed M.Sc and B.Sc in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, India. At present, he is working on the development of high energy density graphene supercapacitor for energy storage applications. He is also working on the graphene flexible electronics, graphene lubricants, graphene sensor, graphene/polymer composites and surface coating of steel using graphene. Dr. Kuila has published about 80 Research/Review Articles in various Peer-Reviewed Journals and about 9 Book Chapters. He has contributed significantly in the areas of surface modification of reduced graphene oxide, bio-reduction of graphene oxide and one-step electrochemical exfoliation of graphite to functionalized graphene sheets.
