Biography
Education Ph.D., Center for Studies in Science Policy, SSS, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, 2007-2012. Research Topic: “Exploring Motivation, Collaboration and Linkages for Grassroot Innovation Systems in India” (Supervisor: Dr. Saradindu Bhaduri) Key research issue: Deriving on the “system of innovation” literature this research work is a unique attempt to conceptualise “grassroot innovation” in the system framework, which is also an extension of my MPhil work. Despite the fact that informal sector innovations have been left out of academic discourse, have potential policy implications in general for developing countries and especially in India. The role of grassroot innovators at local as well as global level have been gradually realized by the different sections of the society. This has led to a dynamic grassroot innovation environment. Individual innovators especially in the informal sector and issues related to them, such as motivation, their linkages with different institutions etc., have been overlooked. Keeping this in mind, this research tries to analyse different actors, networks and their interplay in the “grassroot innovation system” in India. M.Phil., Center for Studies in Science Policy, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, 2005-2007 (Ist Class. Grade awarded in Dissertation: A Plus)
