Umesh C. S. Yadav
Associate Professor and Ramanujan Fellow
SCHOOL OF LIFE SCIENCES
Central University of Gujarat

Biography
Dr. Yadav’s research focus is to understand the biochemical and molecular mechanisms of metabolic disorder-induced chronic inflammatory diseases including diabetic and cardiovascular disorders, and asthma and COPD. His laboratory strives to unravel the inflammatory cascade involved in the initiation as well as progression of inflammatory diseases utilizing both in-vitro and in-vivo experimental models to study the mechanisms at cellular and molecular levels utilizing advanced biochemical, molecular, cellular and immunological techniques. His aims are to perform translational research to identify novel biomarkers for health risk assessment and potential drug targets with the aim to develop mechanismbased anti-inflammatory drugs for clinical intervention and prevention strategies.
