Biography
After teaching one academic session at Department of Sociology and Social Work, Central University of Jammu, I enriched my academic potential with a greater involvement in routine academic activities and field engagements. Past engagements with reputed development sector professionals enhanced my understanding of social justice and equality through field learning. International exposure at University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt, Germany through German Academic Exchange Programme helped me further to broaden my knowledge domain. My field engagement through World Health Organization helped me further in my professional growth. I have vivid experience in research in field of social rights, social justice and social policies while focussing mainly gender issues. A study on child labour in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh and another study on sex education with the adolescent girls and boys of Dharamshala (H.P.) enhanced my skills in qualitative and quantitative research designs. Engagements with marginalised population expanded my expertise in social work education, health system, nutritional surveillance and behavioural assessments. These skills have been acknowledged widely at regional, national and international platforms by development practitioners as well as academic experts.
