Biography
Dr. Jeyavel S Assistant Professor Department of Psychology Dr. S. Jeyavel, has earned PhD degree on his research titled “Promoting Self-regulated learning among adolescents” from VMS University, year 2010. He was a practicing psychologist at Madurai since 2009. As an Educational Psychologist, he has specialized to work with children, their learning & development with the aim of bringing positive change in their life. He also involved in children’s assessment, solving academic problems, counselling, remedial assistance, research and training. He has presented many papers in national and international conferences on cognitive styles, goal orientation and self-regulated learning. He has conducted many training programs to school students, teachers, parents and NGO Volunteers. He has coordinated the Institute of Distance Education, personal contact program of Madras University, from 2006 to 2012. He also insists that Learning is a continuous and life long process. If every one masters the skill of learning, they could get maximum benefit from their learning. As the words of Ella Fitzgerald “It isn’t where you come form, it’s where you’re going that counts” his works focus on the path of moulding students as self-regulated learners.
