Biography
Mr Aamir Habib is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Religious Studies, Central University of Kashmir. He has done his Masters in Comparative Religion from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi and a certificate course on “Buddhist Art and Philosophy†from Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi. He completed his M. Phil. on the topic entitled, “The Mystics and the Idea of Kashmiri Composite Culture: A Study of Prakash Ram Bhat and Shams Faqir†from Jamia Millia Islamia. He is working on his doctoral thesis on the topic, "Knowledge Sharing and Interfertilisation of Mystical Ideas in 18th and 19th Century Mystical Poetry of Kashmir" from Jamia Millia Islamia. Before joining CUK, he has taught at the Centre for the Study of Comparative Religions and Civilizations, Jamia Millia Islamia. His research interests include Mysticism in the Kashmir Valley, Religious Pluralism, Religion and Modernity, Religion and Ecology, Nature of Religion, and Approaches to the Study of Religion.
