Biography
Dr Aftab Hussain Shah obtained his PhD in pure mathematics from Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh in 2010, where he also did his M.Sc and M.Phil in 2004 and 2006 respectively obtaining the first division in each. He was recipient of senior research fellowship (SRF) from CSIR New Delhi during his PhD. He received International travel grant twice from DST to participate in international conferences abroad. His research comes under the broad heading of abstract algebra, but he is particularly interested in Epimorphisms, dominions and amalgamations in semigroups, posemigroups and other ordered algebras. Recently he is also working on transformation semigroups. His research work has been published in journals of high repute in semigroup theory including Semigroup forum (Springer). Before joining Department of Mathematics Central University of Kashmir as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator in February 2012 he had also worked as Lecturer in Department of School Education and Assistant Professor in Department of Higher Education J & K from 2009 to 2012.
