Biography
Dr. John Babu Koyye is Assistant professor, Department of Convergent Journalism, Central University of Kashmir, Srinagar, J & K, India. Dr. John represented the University in the Festival of Innovations-2016 held at Rastrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi. He is the founder and the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Communication & Social Research (IJCSR), a publication from India, which aims at media and journalism research with special focus on development themes. He holds a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Andhra University and Masters degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies. Prior to the present position, he taught at Acharya Nagarjuna University (2010-2013). He has published three reference books Media and Communication for Development (2016), Media and Human Rights (2015) and Role of Radio in Primary Education (2010). He has 27 papers published in reputed Journals and Chapters in Edited Volumes. His area of research and teaching interest is Communication for Development. He has combined his academic research with the video and audio production and has been instrumental in generating awareness on social issues through the traditional media “puppetryâ€. He is the founder of an NGO, Mission for Integration Service Peace and Awareness (MISPA), based in Visakhapatnam and works on building and imparting awareness regarding various social issues.
