Biography
Dr Moyeed-ul-Zafar, B.Sc. (Environment & Water Management), B.A. (Kashmiri), M.A. (English), M.A., Ph.D. (Islamic Studies), NET, is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies. Before joining Department of Religious Studies as a faculty, he has taught at the S.H. Institute of Islamic Studies, Iqbal Institute of Culture and Philosophy, University of Kashmir and Boys Degree College Sopore, Kashmir for more than five years. At CUK he has worked as a Private Secretary to Vice-Chancellor for six years. So far, he has published eight books and six research papers and has participated in more than twenty-seven seminars and workshops both in India and outside. He has worked under the supervision of Prof. Yasin Mazhar Sidique, Professor Department of Islamic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and has completed his PhD on modern trends in Hadith criticism. After completing his Ph.D. from AMU, he successfully completed a research project on “Reason and Rationality in Hadith Literature” which was sponsored by Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi set up by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. He has been nominated as an editor for the Revelation, an annual research journal of the department. In addition to this Dr Zafar is working as a Nodal Officer for Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), Government of India and CM’s Grievance Cell, Government of Jammu & Kashmir. He is also working as a Nodal Officer in Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) in the University. Recently his more than sixty classroom lectures on the Methodology in Hadith Literature have been video recorded and made available on YouTube for the benefit of students and research scholars. He is also a member of Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi and an honorary member of al-Manar Muslim Foundation, Srinagar Kashmir.
