Dr. Nazir Ahmad Zargar

Biography

Dr. Nazir Ahmad Zargar is an Assistant Professor at the Department of religious Studies, Central University of Kashmir. He has formerly served as Assistant Professor, S.H. Institute of Islamic Studies, University of Kashmir. He is a resource person at the Institute of Management Planning and rural Development (IMPA), Srinagar. He has also been a resource person at the UGC Academic Staff College, University of Kashmir. He received a B.Sc. from the University of Kashmir and a B.A. in Arabic from the same University. He did his masters in Islamic Studies (1999) and was awarded gold medal and a certificate of distinction from the University of Kashmir for his outstanding performance in Islamic Studies. Dr Zargar was awarded M.Phil. (2003) on “Da‘wah Methodology in the Contemporary Perspective” and Ph.D. (2006) on “Islamic Perspective on Peace and Justice.” He has also qualified NET and SET. He has delivered a number of lectures to college and university teachers and also to IAS and KAS officers on diverse themes like “Quran and Science with special reference to Mathematics”, “Administrative Ethics”, “Ethics in Police Administration”, “Concept and Categories of Knowledge”, “The Reconciliation of Science and Knowledge in Islam” etc. Dr Zargar is member to many academic bodies and is also a Nodal Officer for all the three campuses of the Central University of Kashmir for “Spoke Tutorial Software Training Programme”, an initiative of National Mission on education through ICT, MHRD, Govt. of India, to promote literacy through Source Software.
