Biography
Sunil Kumar Mannil joined the department in August 2013 as an Assistant Professor. He completed secondary education from MUHS Oorakam under the Kerala State Education Board. He did Pre-degree in Economics and History, B.A. and M.A. both being in English Language and Literature at Pocker Sahib Memorial Orphanage College, a renowned higher educational institution and research centre affiliated to the University of Calicut in Kerala. He was awarded an M.Phil Degree in 2011 by University of Kerala for his research at the Institute of English on the title "Living on the Fringes: A Subaltern Reading of Bama's Karuku and C.K. Janu's Mother Forest: The Unfinished Story." He started his career as a junior lecturer at the P. G. Department of English of Pocker Sahib Memorial Orphanage College. He worked at the Department of English Govt. College Malappuram for a very short span of time. With a genuine interest in Performing Arts, he has already written and directed a few one-act plays. He has attended a number of National and International Seminars and delivered lectures on Dalit Literature and Aesthetics. He teaches Greek and Latin Classics in Translation, English Restoration Drama and Modernist Poetry in English. His areas of interest in academic endeavors include Literary Theory, Film Studies, Subaltern Studies and Latin American Literature.
