Dr. Sibasis Hense

Biography

Dr. Sibasis Hense holds a PhD in Public Health from the School of Public Health and Social Work, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. Sibasis has also earned an MPH from Southern Cross University (SCU), Lismore campus in NSW, Australia and Post-Graduate Diploma in Hospital & Healthcare Management (Equivalent to MBA with specialization in Hospital Management as per AIU) from IIHMR, Jaipur. While at SCU, he obtained the most outstanding Grade Point Average (GPA) Award for academic excellence and completed two international internships at the World Vision Development Foundation, Manila and ThaiHealth Promotion Foundation, Bangkok. Dr. Sibasis is a recipient of an internationally competitive and prestigious Australia Endeavour Award for PhD, offered by the Department of Education, Employment and Workforce Relations, Government of Australia. He was appointed as a ‘Trusted Mentor’ by the Honorable High Commissioner, Government of Australia, in New Delhi to support stronger research and education connection with India through the Australian government’s prestigious Endeavour Award. Dr. Sibasis has over five years of experience (both in academics and industry) in different domains of healthcare, mainly in the Asia-Pacific region. In the past, he has worked in the areas of healthcare IT, mixed-method research in public health, human resources for health, health professionals’ migration studies and health information system. In the co-curricular domain, Sibasis has widely travelled, held membership with professional bodies in public health and hospital administration, presented papers at international conferences, published and reviewed articles in peered reviewed journals and industry magazines on issues pertaining to tele-medicine, healthcare technologies, cancer care, HIV & AIDS, Tobacco control, and Tuberculosis His research interests are data analytics in healthcare, health professional migration, human resources for health, m-health and the role of ICT in healthcare delivery.
