Biography
Dr.Jilly John has earned Ph.D. degree on her research titled ‘Child Rearing Practices in Urban Families of Kerala’ at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, as a full time UGC-JRF research Scholar in the year 2011. She started her teaching career atSt. Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda, in the year 2002, also worked at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery and DePaulInstitute of Science and Technology, Angamaly, Kerala. She has continued her journey with research at Indira Gandhi National Open University (New Delhi) as a Programme Officer in the Distance Education Programme of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.Before joining Central University of Kerala, she was working as Assistant Professor at Dept. of Social Work, Central University Karnataka. She has presented papers at National and International conferencesand conducted various workshops for different stake holders related to her research interest. She has also worked as a research investigator in a research project and as a Psychiatric Social worker at a rehabilitation Centrefor destitute women with mental illness.She has involved in National and International conferences as coordinator and organizing committee member. SheCompleted a UGC- Major research Project on “Impact of Child mental health Orientation Programme on Parents through Neighbourhood groups: A comparison between Kerala and Karnataka”.
