Biography
Dr. Lazar obtained his Master’s degree in Zoology in 1976 and his Ph.D. in 1984 from the University of Calicut. He did his postdoctoral research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas and at Myriad Genetics, Salt Lake City, Utah on human molecular genetics and later joined as a Lecturer at the University of Calicut in 1999. He joined the Central University of Kerala in 2013 as the Academic Co-ordinator of the Department of Environmental Science and in 2017 as Professor in the Department of Genomic Science. Dr. Lazar has specialised in human molecular genetics, embryonic stem cells, gene regulation in organisms, insecticide toxicology, antioxidants, genotyping and genetic diversity analysis. He has over 50 publications to his credit and presented several papers in national and international conferences. He has also deposited over 1000 DNA sequences in GenBank.

Molecular genetics of cancer; gene regulation in organisms; ES cell culture and manipulation; molecular phylogeny and evolution of organisms; transcriptomics, eusociality genes.
