Awarded Sat Paul Mittal JRF in Environmental Sciences for 2005-06; UGC -JRF / SRF in Environmental Sciences (2006-10); Exchange Doctoral student to Stockholm University, Sweden (15 months, 2006 and 2008). Qualified UGC-NET in Environmental sciences; CSIR-NET in Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; and GATE in Life Sciences. Authored articles in Organic Geochemistry, Marine Chemistry, Applied Geochemistry, Hydrobiologia, Arabian journal of Geosciences, Environmental Earth Sciences, Environmental Monitoring and Assessment etc. and contributed chapters in several books like Sediment Dynamics for a Changing Future (Red Book-IAHS Publisher 2010); Management and Sustainable Development of Coastal Zone Environments, (Springer-Capital).
