Professor in Tibetan History & Culture, Dean of Faculty of Adhunik Vidya & Appellate Authority of RTI of CUTS. 1. Dynastic History of La dwags (10th-15th century) This project was submitted by Dr. Jampa Samten & Dr. Roberto Vitali to Central University of Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, Varanasi through the Department of Social Science The treatments of the dynastic history of La dwags that have appeared in the studies so far (in Tibetan, Hindi or English) have been mainly based on a single major source, La dwags rgyal rabs. This royal history provides a plethora of information only from the advent of the local rNam rgyal dynasty onwards, which occurred at the end of the 15th century or the commencement of the 16th. 2. A Historiographical and Philological Study of the Historical Literature of the Himalaya (with Focus on the Earlier Periods) Two Projects submitted by Dr. Jampa Samten & Dr. Roberto Vitali to Central University of Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, Varanasi through the Department of Social Science. Our work is conceived as a historiographical study based on philological analysis of literary sources mainly in the Tibetan language.
