Professor (Ministry of Commerce Chair 2009 onwards), Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, Kerala (2005 to Present). Visiting Senior Fellow (on leave from CDS), RIS New Delhi (2003-05). Consultant to UNESCAP (on leave from CDS), UNESCAP (2003-04). Professor from CDS on deputation, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (2001-03).

• Innovation and Development with focus on Information technology • Regional Development with focus on Kerala economy • Plantation Agriculture • Industry Studies, especially electronics • FDI, Trade, Globalization and WTO • Comparative studies in development – China and India
