B.Sc. from Vikram University, Ujjain (M.P.) in 1961. Trainee at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Graduate Training School, Mumbai during 1961-62. Ph.D. (Bombay University, 1972). Thesis: "Study of Cosmic X-rays sources using Balloon-Borne Detectors." 2013 – Present : Visiting Professor and National Academy of Sciences (NASI), Senior Scientist at MU-DAE Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (CBS)
Research Interest
Experimental High Energy Astrophysics, X-ray astronomy studies with balloons, rockets and satellites, design and development of radiation detectors and associated instrumentation for X-ray astronomy studies, timing and spectral studies of accreting X-ray binaries.
