Biography
Dr. Chirayu Desai is an Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences at P.D. Patel Institute of Applied Sciences, Charotar University of Science and Technology, Changa, Gujarat, India. He has a Ph. D. in Biotechnology from Sardar Patel University, India. He has an interdisciplinary research experience and has pursued his research at various institutions on different fellowships, such as the Endeavour Research Fellowship (Australian Government) at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia (2007). Postdoctoral research fellowships at Public Health Research Institute, New Jersey Medical School, New Jersey and Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, United States (2009-2015). He has a number of publications in reputed journals, academic awards and has peer-reviewed for different journals.
Research Interest
His main research interests include Microbial bioremediation of anthropogenic pollutants such as hexavalent chromium and azo dyes. Microbial ecology and metagenomics based approaches to understand bioremediation processes.
