Biography
Shiva Shankar received his B.Tech. (Electrical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (1978) and his Ph.D. from SUNY, Stony Brook (1983). He has been an Assistant Professor, at the Department of Applied Mathematics, SUNY, Stony Brook (1983-84), a Visiting Fellow at the School of Mathematics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bangalore (1984-88), an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (1988-2000). Visiting Positions include Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, and at Mathematics Institute, University of Groningen.
Research Interest
His research interests are: Partial Differential Equations, Mechanics and Control Theory
