Sanjay Tolia

Biography

  Sanjay is the Clients and Industries Leader for PwC India and also leads the APAC Transfer Pricing Practice. He has accumulated more than 25 years of experience including 19 years at PwC providing advisory services to medium and large sized multinational corporations. Since the introduction of Transfer Pricing regulations in India in 2001, Sanjay has been advising clients on TP strategies, combining industry insight with technical skills to provide holistic solutions from a commercial, tax and regulatory perspective. He has experience on diverse matters such as investment and transaction structuring, optimising benefits under income-tax laws and tax treaties, addressing regulatory issues and tax compliance. He has been instrumental in concluding many Advance Pricing Agreements for his clients with the Indian Tax authorities. His clients include a number of companies in the services and manufacturing sectors, including  Telecom, Pharma and Medical devices, Financial Service, Chemicals, Electronics, FMCG and Logistics industries. In his Clients and Industries’ role, he provides strategic inputs on Industry Sectors, Priority Clients, Brand, Thought Leadership and Country Corridors.  He has been a regular speaker at tax seminars organised by industry and tax practitioners within and outside India. He also regularly writes articles for the leading international publications like BNA, IBFD, ITR and Taxmann.  Sanjay is a chartered accountant and has a Bachelor's degree in commerce and economics. He is also a lecturer at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
