Biography
Mrs. J. Annie Modestra is currently working as Senior Research Fellow at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), Hyderabad, India. She earned her Master s degree (M.Tech) in Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur (JNTUA) and B.Tech in Biotechnology from Karunya University, Coimbatore. Her main research interests are in the domain of Environmental Bioengineering for the production of Biofuels and value added products in multi-disciplinary integrated approach. Her research expertise includes marine fungal cellulose enzyme screening and production, gene polymorphism studies, sequestration of atmospheric CO2 towards value added products in microbial electro-synthesis systems, microbial fuel cells for bioelectricity generation, Microbial electrolysis cells for bio-hydrogen production and bio-electrochemical treatment system for the treatment of complex waste waters. Her research expertise during the past four years has resulted in 12 peer reviewed research articles and 2 chapters for books. She also has participated in many international and national conferences and achieved many awards during the academic career.
