Biography
K.K. Mohammed Yusuff was born in  Kodungallur, Kerala, India. He received his B.Sc. (Special) degree (1970), M.Sc. degree (1972) and  a Ph.D. degree with Professor C.G. Ramachandran Nair (1977) from University of Kerala. He was awarded UNESCO fellowship for a three months advanced course in Inorganic Chemistry at University College, Dublin, Ireland in 1977.  His teaching career started in 1974 as a Junior Lecturer in College of Engineering, Trivandrum and from there, he moved over to University of Calicut as Lecturer in 1976.  He joined as Reader in Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1983 and became Professor of Inorganic Chemistry in 1991. He worked as a visiting professor in the research group of Professor Narayan Hosmane of Northern Illinois University during the period May2003 to October 2003. He is currently working as Professor of Catalysis.  Eighteen students have taken Ph.D. degree under his supervision. He is the author/coauthor of over 55 publications in scientific journals. His research interests include the chemistry of zeolite encapsulated and polymer supported transition metal complexes and the use of these types of complexes in the development of catalysts for oxidation reactions.
