Biography

"I am a Consultant Psychiatrist based in Bangalore. After finishing M.B.B.S from Government Medical College, Nagpur with honors, I completed my M.D. in Psychiatry from Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals and Grant Medical College, Mumbai. Topped in the Maharashtra University and was awarded the ‘Gold Medal’. I have worked as Assistant Professor for two years in reputed medical college in Bangalore. PAST- worked as- counselor and therapist for reputed N.G.O. working with L.G.B.T population in Mumbai ( 2009 to July-2010),Consultant Psychiatrist for Sandnya Sanwardhan Sanstha, Nagpur (N.G.O working for mentally challenged children) (Aug-10 to Nov-11), also at Swami Vivekanand Medical Mission,Nagpur (Aug-10 to Nov-11) and for SNEHANCHAL (Palliative Care Unit),Nagpur (Nov-10 to Nov-11) I have a vast experience in dealing with all psychiatric problems like- Anxiety, Depression, Psychosis, Sleep disorders, Sexual disorders and Gender related issues, Child Psychiatry, Dementia and old age issues. Have been the recipient of the DR. A.K.NAIK AWARD for groundbreaking research on “Psychopathology in female prisoners” of Mumbai. i have several International and National scientific publications to my credit. My book citing my experiences with patients has been recently published in Marathi (Jan-2013) titled- “Manachya Khol Talatun”. Have been invited as Faculty and Guest Speaker at both National and International conferences. Have also been an Investigator in clinical trials and research activities at a local, national and global level. Have conducted workshops and seminars and industry training programs for various Companies and Industries in Maharashtra. Have also conducted a series of Mental health awareness workshops, career counseling and stress management for teenagers from many colleges in Mumbai. Am writing regularly in newspapers & magazines on mental health, other medical and social issues and working as medical editor for many online portals."
