Biography

Ms. Preetishirin Katapur joined FIND India in July 2017 as Lab Specialist under the HCV Project. In her current role, she is responsible for i) coordinating and managing FIND India’s hepatitis C laboratory activities in collaboration with different international and local partner organizations, and ii) coordinating in-country hepatitis C laboratory-related capacity building and strengthening. She is also responsible for monitoring laboratory project sites and providing technical assistance on SOP standardization for hepatitis C testing and laboratory quality assurance. Prior to joining FIND, Preetishirin worked at the National AIDS Research Institute (ICMR), Pune on international collaborative projects like HIVNET (HIV prevention and Trial Network) and IBBA (Integrated Behavioral and Biological Assessment) for diagnosis and treatment of HIV. Preetishirin has earned her Master’s in Medical Microbiology from B.J. Medical College, Pune, where she has worked on Superficial Fungal Infections and Dermatophytes.
