Biography
Dr. Mukund Laxman Abhyankar has been the Director of Cosmos Bank since 1978. He has graced the Chairmanship of Cosmos Bank many times in the past. Being the Director of The Cosmos Bank as well as Cosmos eSolutions & Services Private Limited which is the fully owned subsidiary of Cosmos Bank he is appointed to the post of ‘Group Chairman.’ Dr. Abhyankar is such an eminent personality, reputed for his knowledge in the field like economics, banking etc. He has played a vital role in development of the Bank. He is associated as member or director or committee member with apex organizations like the Reserve Bank & other national level institutions and federations in Co-operative banking sector like NAFCUB, TAFCUB etc. He was appointed by the Reserve Bank in 1998 as a member of High Power Committee on Urban co-operative Banking. He was also a Director of erstwhile Apex Urban Co-op. bank of Maharashtra & Goa. He is invited by RBI as an expert Member on the Standing Advisory Committee on UCB’s since last 6 years.
