Biography

Dr. A.Vijayalakshmi is a Principal Scientist at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad. Joined CCMB in the year of 1997.Obtained MSc in Organic Chemistry from Osmania University, M Phil in Chemistry from Hyderabad Central University. During service as a Scientist in CCMB obtained the PhD in Chemistry (in the field of Nanotechnology) from Osmania University. Till now obtained 20-25 publications in high impact factor of International journals and has patents from US and as well from india. Presented the research work in several international and national conferences related to Chemistry and biology interfaces sciences. Invited speaker of JNTU in nanotechnology t for the classes of undergraduate teachers and for the national conferences of other universities. Guided several students for their short projects during the summer season, few dissertations students and coordinated in guiding the PhD students. Developed a triglyceride Biosensor which has been patented from US. We focus on optimal design of a sustained/ controlled release system necessitates a thorough understanding of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the drug. Working on the development of a Microbial fuel cell devices where bacteria used as a catalyst to oxidize organic and inorganic matter and generate current. Engineering a fungal proteins for high affinity binding to the heavy metals to use them in the field of bioremediation. Functionalizing the nanoparticles for a specific and targeted drug delivery.
