Biography
Dr. Gundlapally Sathyanarayana Reddy is a Senior Technical Officer at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, India. He has completed his Ph. D in the area of Bacterial Diversity from Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology and Post-doctoral studies from School of Life Sciences, Arizona State University, Tempe, USA. He has received UNESCO-IUMS-MIRCENS-SGM short-term fellowship in the year 2002. He has participated in the iron fertilization experiment, the LOHAFEX, conducted in the Southern Ocean in 2009. He has published more than 55 research papers in peer reviewed journals and authored book chapters in Bergey’s manual of systematic bacteriology and The Prokaryotes. Reddy is a member of the Society for Biological Chemists of India (SBC[I]), Advisory board, Department of Biotechnology, Gulbarga University, Gulbarga, Karnataka and a Senior Editorial Board (SEB) Member of the American Journal of Current Microbiology. He is a reviewer for several peer reviewed scientific journals.
Research Interest
His main research interests include Biodiversity, Molecular Systematics and Bioprospecting of Prokaryotes and Molecular Adaptation of Extremophiles.
