Biography
Jitendra Kumar Saini holds a doctorate in Microbiology from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India and is currently working as a Scientific Officer at DBT-IOC Centre for Advanced Bio-Energy Research, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., R & D Centre, India. He has a total of about 9 years research experience in the area of biofuels, cellulases, fermentation and bioprocess development/optimization. He is an author of more than 10 research/review articles, more than 5 book chapters and has presented several papers at conferences. He is also a peer-reviewer for many high reputation biofuel journals including Nature Energy, Energy & Environmental Science, Biotechnology for Biofuels, Biotechnology Advances, RSC Advances, Industrial Crops and Products, Bio Resources etc. His current research focuses on Lignocellulose derived advanced biofuels (Bioethanol); solid state fermentation for cellulase production, fungal strain improvement for cellulase hyperproduction using genome shuffling and mutagenesis; thermotolerant yeasts for high gravity bioethanol production through SSF and cellulolytic enzyme blends/cocktails for enhanced biomass hydrolysis.
