Biography
Dr. Keshava Prasad is a Faculty Scientist in Institute of Bioinformatics, Bangalore. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mycology from Goa University, India. He is a recipient of Young Investigator Award from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, to investigate the role of protein tyrosine phosphatases in EGF signaling. He is also a Principal Investigator in a DBT-funded consortium to establish a national database for tuberculosis. He is leading IOB»s efforts on Human Protein Reference Database.In addition, he has a DBT-funded project to develop Mouse Protein Reference Database. Besides, he is also supported by a DBT grant for proteomic profiling of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in collaboration with Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore. He is a reviewer for the journals Bioinformatics, DNA Research, International Journal of Molecular Sciences and Bioinformatics and Biology Insights. He is using differential proteomic strategies to profile the proteomes of infectious fungi including species of Candida and Aspergillus.
Research Interest
His main research interests include Proteomics, Proteogenomics and genome annotation, Quantitative proteomics and biomarkers, Bioinformatics and protein databases.
