Biography
Dr. Shaik Basha completed his both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in chemical engineering from India in 1994 and 1998, respectively. He worked as Lecturer in the department of chemical engineering of Sarvajanik College of Engineering & Technology, India for about 4 years and as a scientist in the marine biotechonology and ecology of CSIR-CSMCRI for about 15 years. He did his Ph. D from chemical engineering department of SV National Institute of Technology Surat, India. He received IRCSET-EMPOWER post-doctoral fellowship, funded by Government of Ireland for the year 2009-2011 and he worked at Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland. He possesses valuable experience in research development and management in the area of environmental chemical engineering. He has been actively involved in guiding both doctoral and graduate students and very active in publishing original research and review papers in international journals. He has significant administrative experience in connection to management of the research projects.
Research Interest
His main research interests include (1) Design and preparation of novel porous adsorbents for wastewater treatment (2) Nanotechnology for environmental remediation (3) Advanced oxidation processes for water treatment (4) Assessing the impact of various anthropogenic activities on the environment, identification of wastewater outfalls, Ecological survey.
