Biography
About Dr. Galla V. Karunakar was born in Peridepi, Prakasam (dist), India. Education He graduated in 1994 from C. S. R. Sarma College- Ongole, Nagarjuna University, India. After obtaining his M.Sc. degree in chemistry in 1997 from the University of Hyderabad, stayed there to complete his M. Phill under the supervision of Prof. Samudranil Pal, and Ph. D under the supervision Prof. M. Periasamy, where the research topic was development of titanium reagents. In 2006 he moved to the Max-Plack Institute for Molecular Physiology-Dortmund and joined the research group of Prof. H. Waldmann at Germany, where he was Max-Planck Post doctoral research Fellow in the Division of Chemical Biology. Employment Research Scientist: Neuland Laboratories Ltd.(Pharma Company) June 2008-July 2010. Assistant Professor: Tezpur Central University August 2008-September 2011. Scientist: CSIR-IICT October 2011 to till date.
Research Interest
Synthetic Organic chemistry, working in the areas of (i) Homogeneous Catalysis (ii) Medicinal chemistry, (iii) Organometallics, study the reaction mechanisms and (iv) Crop protection chemistry.
