Biography
Dr. A. Krishnaiah joined IICT in the year 1989 and presently holding the principal Scientist position. Ever since he joined IICT, engaged on technology development for market driven agrochemical products and has proven abilities in technology development. He was instrumental in Process Development of various agrochemical products. For example Thiopanate-Methyl and Acephate products which he has seen them from bench scale to technology transfer. Further, Dr. Krishnaiah visited USA on post doctoral position and gained the wide exposure in basic research. He is guiding the students for Masters in Chemistry, Pharmacy and also for PhD programme. His basic research interest; synthesis of new chemical entities of biological interest resulted in the form of publications in peer reviewed reputed national and international journals.
Research Interest
Design and synthesis of novel polysubstituted fused heterocycles as possible cytotoxic and/or antimicrobial agents. A number of new chemical entities such as pyridones, pyrazoles, pyrazolopyridines, pyridopyrazolopyrimidines, pyranochromenes, pyrimidinochromenes and azaindoloisoquinolines have been synthesized involving multistep/tandem reactions and screened them for various biological activities. A number of new candidates have emerged as potential anti-cancer, antimicrobial anti-biofilm agents. And technology development for market driven agrochemical products
