Biography

Education My post-graduation in Biochemistry was from the university of Hyderabad-2001. Next, PhD was from Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology-2007. Employment I worked for six months as Research associate at Institute of life sciences-2007-2008.   Next, Scientist at L.V.Prasad Eye Institute -2008   Finally, joined CSIR-IICT as Junior Scientist November 2008.

Research Interest

We folks, work on the regulation of enzymes involved in tumour metabolism. Presently, we are focused on the enzymes isocitrate dehydorgenases-1 and -2. These enzymes are often mutated in a wide spectrum of cancers, and demonstrate a gain of function. Hence we use molecular biology tools to delineate the mechanisms involved in regulating these enzymes. In addition, we also plan to expand our forte, by investigating the link between RNA epigenetics (N6-Methyladenosine) and tumour metabolism.
