Biography

Mrs. K.N.Prasanna Rani obtained her M.Tech in chemical Engineering from Osmania University. She has 18 years of research experience and presently holding the position of Principal Scientist at Centre for Lipid Research. Her research expertise is in the areas of processing of oils and fats including supercritical extraction and hydrogenation.She also contributes towards upscaling of process developed at lab scale. She has guided around 20 diploma, B.Tech and M. Tech students in chemical engineering for their dissertation

Research Interest

Currently working on enzymatic extraction of vegetable oilseeds and supercritical carbondioxide extraction of PUFA rich oils. Also working on biocatalytic applications in the area of Vegetable Oils. Basic research includes kinetics of esterification of lipids.
