Biography
Dr. Bhimapaka China Raju, born in Bhadrachalam, Khammam dist. B.Sc (BZC) and M.Sc (Organic Chemistry) obtained from Osmania University. Ph.D work carried out at CSIR-IICT under the supervision of In-charge Director Dr. U.T.Bhalerao on total synthesis of Natural products and development of novel synthetic methodologies. Post Doctoral work carried out at Prof. Herbert C Brown Center for Borane Research, Department of Chemistry, Purdue University, USA. Presently working as Principal Scientist at Natural Products Chemistry Division, CSIR-IICT. Significant contributions in the area of organic chemistry with a special emphasis on total synthesis of biologically active natural products and natural product based novel heterocyclic compounds. Developed four pesticide projects and two have been transferred to industry. He has 68 publications and 20 patents. 4 Students have been already awarded Ph. D. degree under his supervision and presently 5 students are working for their doctoral research work.
