Biography
Dr Shiva Shanker Kaki has obtained his Masters degree in Organic Chemistry from Osmania University, Hyderabad and Ph.D in 2009 from Osmania University (Research work was carried out at CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad under the guidance of Dr.RBN Prasad). From 2009 to 2011 he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Prof.Martin Caffrey at University of Limerick, Ireland and with Prof.Patrick Adlercreutz at Lund University, Sweden in the area of lipids for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications. From January 2012 to September 2016, Dr Shiva Shanker worked as QRS-Fellow under Quick Recruitment of Scientists scheme and also as a DST-SERB Young Scientist. Currently he is working as a Senior Scientist at Centre for Lipid Research.
Research Interest
Lipid Chemistry; Oils & Fats (Isolation, characterization & downstream processing for edible & industrial applications); Bioorganic synthesis (chemical, enzymatic and the combination of both) for producing functional lipids (bioactive lipids, antioxidants, phospholipids, lipid nutraceuticals, etc)
