Biography

Dr S Rama Mohan is involved mainly with the marketing of the knowledgebase and S&T services of the institute since 1998. He carry out activities like projecting institute’s R&D capabilities and expertise to companies and visiting clients, facilitating for realization of research and technology business contracts with them and facilitating for realization of obligations spelled out by clients in the contracts. He participated in negotiation and finalization of around four hundred (400) new projects and drafting the related research contracts with the companies world over. The clientele include companies from public sector, private sector (both in India and overseas) and Government Departments. He prepares financial estimates and resource allocation for these projects. He has experience in facilitating collaborations with internationally reputed Multinational companies (like Pfizer, USA; DuPont, USA; Colgate Palmolive, USA; Bayer, Germany, etc.), reputed national industries (like Ranbaxy, Biocon, Dr Reddy labs, Cadila Pharma Ltd, Lupin, matrix labs, etc.), public sector units (like Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, ONGC, etc.), government labs (like HEMRL, DRDL, RCI, ASL, IISC, etc.), government departments (like EPTRI, Department of Sericulture, etc.) and academic institutes. The activities resulted in undertaking projects by institute for (a) industry (b) societal projects which indirectly helped in creation of employment and contribution to Indian economy. He was involved in organization of few meetings/symposia and CSIR-IICT Open days. He was member in several internal administrative committees of the institute. He also participated in International S&T affairs of the institute and organised around thirty Overseas S&T delegations from different countries visiting the institute to explore S&T collaboration opportunities. He has 25 publications to his credit in national and international journals. He is Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and Associate Fellow of AP Akademi of Sciences.
